Ethan Ampadu has been one of the most-reliable players in the Championship, let alone the Leeds United squad this term – but he was hilariously teased for a slip in training this week, before Cardiff.
Ampadu, 23, has been an incredible signing. The first one through the door in the summer and targeted early by Daniel Farke as a man he wants in his midfield. The Wales ace has easily surpassed expectation.
He will start again on Saturday when Leeds go to Wales to take on Cardiff. It comes after starting all 26 Championship games, and only being subbed in two, and both of those substitutions were in injury time.
His confidence will be high, too. It comes after scoring a brace against Peterborough, taking his career goal total from one to three. He also captained Leeds, at London Road. Ampadu has been in super form.
What will be interesting, is who partners the Wales star in midfield. Archie Gray did well at Peterborough, alongside Ilia Gruev who also impressed. But the chances are, that it will be Glen Kamara in the middle.

Ethan Ampadu teased for mistake in Leeds training this week
£7m Ampadu might be used at centre-back, after Daniel Farke’s press conference comments on Charlie Cresswell – and that Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk are injured. So, there might be a midfield reshuffle.
Maybe, Glen Kamara and Gruev with Gray at right-back, or Gray in midfield and Jamie Shackleton on the right of defence. Decisions to make but regardless, Ampadu starts – whether it is in defence or midfield.
It comes after an embarrassing moment for him in training this week. In a video published on the club’s Twitter account, Ampadu is teased by his Leeds teammates after slipping in a race with Ilia Gruev (1.10).
