Leeds United are already considering handing Archie Gray a new contract.
That is according to Phil Hay of the Athletic, who reports Gray is on a shortlist of players Leeds are keen to tie down for longer, despite having only signed a new deal in March.
Due to his age, Leeds were only able to offer Gray a deal that spanned to a certain length, with the contract he signed earlier this year only keeping him at the club until 2025.
However, as soon as he turned 17, Leeds were determined to secure him to professional terms at the earliest possible date to ensure other clubs were unable to steal him from under their noses.
Now Leeds are determined to ensure Gray commits his long-term future to the club by beginning talks over a new deal.

Gray was handed his full senior debut by Daniel Farke at the weekend and produced a man of the match display as Leeds were held to a 2-2 draw by Cardiff City.
Despite it being his first appearance, Gray looked as though he had been playing at this level for many years, with former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford hailing his performance as ‘phenomenal’ on Sky Sports.
If it wasn’t already clear before Sunday, it is extremely evident now that Gray is set to play a prominent role in Leeds’ first team this year.
As such, it is vital that Leeds get him tied down to a deal that is more representative of his worth in the squad before the top clubs start sniffing around.
Gray is arguably the best academy player Leeds have produced in many years and so supporters will be hoping he is gracing the Elland Road turf for a long while yet.
