Manchester United are reportedly set to send Amad Diallo out on loan in the January window as he returns to full fitness at Old Trafford – after Leeds United were linked with him back in the summer.
Ivory Coast star Diallo – who was bought by Manchester United for a whopping £37m in 2021 – starred for Sunderland on loan during 22-23. He returned to Old Trafford in the summer, hoping to play a part.
But injury has hampered his progress and he is only just returning to fitness now, failing to play a single match this season. Team Talk say he is set for talks with Erik ten Hag over his Manchester United future.
The report claims Sunderland are keen on luring him back to the Stadium of Light, with the expectation he leaves on loan before the end of the January window. Maybe, an opportunity for Leeds next month.
Back in the summer, Leeds were linked with a move for the former Atalanta attacker. Instead, Leeds duo Willy Gnonto and Cree Summerville stayed despite links, Dan James returned. Jaidon Anthony came in.

Injury prevented him from going on loan again, or having an impact this season and it is expected that Diallo will now leave on loan again. Should Leeds reignite interest? Perhaps, given his 2022-23 form.
Having Diallo in the Leeds side immediately improves our options in attack. Not only out wide, but in the 10 role, too. But, if Leeds are to be busy, surely a winger is the last area which requires strengthening.
But Diallo is the kind of player Leeds have got to consider bringing in, even if it means forcing a couple of others to go – because he is a game changer. If available, Leeds should consider signing the Ivorian.
