Former Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has joined Norwich City on a one-year-deal.
The Canaries confirmed his capture earlier this morning with the 31-year-old having been without a club for over a month since his departure from Elland Road.
Leeds had been hoping to keep Forshaw and even invited him back for pre-season training at the beginning of the summer, and offer in which the midfielder did not take.
He was also offered a new deal on reduced terms but it was then confirmed last month that Forshaw would not be taking up the offer.
His exit from Leeds marked the end of his five-and-a-half-year spell at the club, which unfortunately was hampered by a string of injury problems.
Forshaw joins Norwich after Leeds exit
Forshaw will face his old club for the first time on October 21, with Leeds scheduled to make the trip to Norwich before the return fixture at Elland Road on January 27.
He made 91 appearances during his time in West Yorkshire, which as mentioned, was marred by numerous fitness issues.
That said, Forshaw will be sure to receive a good reception from Leeds supporters when he comes up against his old club.
Forshaw was one to always give everything on the pitch regardless of how his body held up and although it is not saying much, was among Leeds‘ best players under Sam Allardyce in the final four matches of last season.
He will be hoping to earn the third promotion of his career at Norwich having already done so at Middlesbrough and Leeds respectively.
