30-year-old Leeds star’s record against Swansea is woeful, he simply has to change that tonight

Leeds United will be looking to make it seven Championship wins in a row on Tuesday when we go to Wales to take on Swansea City – and Patrick Bamford will be hoping to rid his Swansea hoodoo.

Bamford, 30, scored again on Saturday afternoon – a goal that sparked controversy, but one that sees the one-time England star reach five since the turn of the year. He won the Leeds POTM January award.

A clear handball as he elbowed past Rotherham goalkeeper Viktor Johansson – a player linked with us last summer. Rotherham boss Leam Richardson was not happy after the game, speaking with the ref.

On Tuesday night, Bamford is expected to retain his place in the side as Leeds go to Swansea. A side that are struggling to combine their performances with results – sitting way down the league in 16th.

Joel Piroe will be desperate to play against his old side, but it will surely be Bamford who gets the nod in Wales. For Bamford, it will be a chance to end his Swansea voodoo – which has stretched seven games.

The striker does not have a good record against them. Seven games, no goals. Five of those seven have come in a Leeds shirt – while one for Norwich, and one for Crystal Palace. Only one assist, in the seven.

One crumb of comfort is that his three wins against the Welsh side have all come for Leeds – but if we are to go and get a result, Bamford needs to end his failure to score against Swansea City tonight.

Every game now, is must win – with 15 League games to play and Leeds a point behind Southampton. Bamford is crucial. Ending his Swansea hoodoo would go some way in helping us keep our run intact.
