Tottenham Hotspur held on to beat Brentford 3-2 on Wednesday night in North London as they came from behind to win – but Ben Davies remained an unused sub, amid links with Leeds United.
Goals from Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison proved to be just enough for Spurs on Wednesday night as Ange Postecoglou’s side earned an important win. Davies, though, was unused.
The 30-year-old will have watched on perhaps with the realisation that he is falling down the pecking order at Spurs. Udogie is the future of this Spurs side on the left side of the defence, at the moment.
At centre-back, Micky van de Ven is back alongside Cristian Romero – while new January signing Radu Dragusin came on. With no European football, Davies will know he is going to struggle for game time.
Certainly, during the second half of the season. With deadline day just a few hours away, it might be that he requests to leave after being an unused sub for the sixth time this term. His contract ends in 2025.

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that no key players will leave Spurs before the end of the January window. But, Davies may be tempted with the knowledge he is going to play a back-up role, now.
Proven, by his no-show on Wednesday night. If that is the case and the £10m man opts to leave Spurs in the next 24 hours then Leeds have got to make a move. Spurs could be tempted to cash in, tomorrow.
