28-year-old eyed by Leeds United praises Ethan Ampadu, Nottingham Forest star also responds

Ethan Ampadu had only scored one senior goal in professional football before Sunday, but he ended the day with three after a brace for Leeds United – and Leeds target Connor Roberts has responded.

Ampadu has Chelsea, Sheffield United, Leipzig, Spezia and Venezia on his CV – as well as Leeds. But, he has scored only once – last season, while on loan at Spezia. Incredible given today was his 222nd game.

The Wales star netted twice as Leeds cruised to a 3-0 win over the League One promotion hopefuls. A brace for Ampadu, and an incredible strike from Patrick Bamford – his second in the last two matches.

Leeds find themselves in the fourth round of The FA Cup, and back in form after two consecutive 3-0 wins. Ampadu took to Instagram following the win, and the brace – on a day in which he captained us.

Meanwhile, Leeds have let Djed Spence go and one of the players they could bring in to replace him is Burnley’s Roberts. A player that is also a crucial part of Rob Page’s side – Leeds already boasting three.

The 28-year-old has lost his place in Burnley’s side and was an unused sub last time out, as Burnley lost to Tottenham in the FA Cup. Pedro Porro scoring a worldie from all of 25 yards to down Roberts’ side.

Roberts has a contract at Burnley until the summer of 2025, so he could be available for the right price if Leeds do decide to move – or, go in for him on loan. He was one of many that praised Ampadu.

Along with Roberts, Pascal Struijk said it was “about time” that Ampadu had opened his account for us. Nottingham Forest star Neco Williams, another Welshman linked with Leeds, also commented.
