26-year-old now signs contract to seal Leeds exit, new loan clause emerges in deal

Marc Roca signed his contract on Friday to seal his loan move from Leeds United to Real Betis.

That is according to El Desmarque, who report the deal could now be made official this weekend, with the departures of of Rober Gonzalez and Dani Martin having provided Betis with the necessary financial wriggle room to complete a deal.

Betis have just been waiting on moving some players out before being able to complete any new signings, with Hector Bellerin set to follow Roca in joining in the coming days.

As became apparent earlier this week, the Spanish outlet have confirmed there will be no option-to-buy in the deal, though it could be renegotiated at a later time.

Additionally, Betis also have the option to extend the loan into a second season if Leeds are not able to secure promotion to the Premier League this season.

Roca signs contract to become new Betis player

The 26-year-old will become Leeds’ fifth loan exit of the summer with Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen all having completed temporary moves away.

Leeds will be hoping they can negotiate an option-to-buy in the deal in the coming months, even if they have not managed to do so this summer.

It is unclear how much Betis were willing to pay Leeds to make Roca’s deal permanent, though given their financial issues, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it was below the valuation.

Since his move from Bayern last summer, Roca made 32 Premier League appearances for Leeds, scoring one goal and registering one assist.

He had made a promising start to life in England but ultimately struggled to adapt to any of the managers he played under, as well as the intensity of the division.
