26-year-old now awaiting ‘green light’ for transfer, is back at Leeds for pre-season

Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca is just awaiting the ‘green light’ before he can complete a transfer to Real Betis.

That is according to ABC Sevilla, who report Betis are continuing to work on exits of the likes of William Carvalho, which will then allow them to complete a number of incoming transfers they have lined up.

Alongside Roca, both Ayoze Perez and Hector Bellerin are eagerly awaiting the chance to sign on the dotted line, but cannot do so until they open up space financially.

Despite the close nature of the transfer, Roca is now back at Leeds for pre-season training, having reported back alongside the rest of the non-internationals on Monday.

Diego Llorente and Robin Koch, on the hand, did not, with both on the verge of loan moves to AS Roma and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

Roca is expected to join Betis on a season-long-loan deal, joining the likes of Brenden Aaronson and the aforementioned Llorente and Koch in leaving temporarily.

It is also set to include an option-to-buy, with Betis having been keen to include this in the deal given their long-standing interest in the 26-year-old.

Leeds actually beat the Europa League side to the signing of Roca from Bayern Munich 12 months ago, as they were able to meet the asking price.

He went onto make 32 appearances last season but could not prevent Leeds being relegated and a departure feels like the best outcome for all parties.

Roca’s involvement in next week’s friendly with Manchester United remains unclear even if a transfer is still not wrapped up.
