Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has made a ‘great financial effort’ to secure his move to Real Betis this summer.

That is according to El Chrininguito journalist Gonzalo Tortosa, who reports a deal will include an option-to-buy in 12 months’ time and is set to be made official in the coming weeks.

It has widely been reported from the Spanish press that a deal has been struck for Roca to make the move to Betis, but the Spanish club are just waiting for William Carvalho to depart.

Carvalho is reportedly set to join the growing list of players moving to Saudi Arabia, and once he departs, the necessary financial space will be open for Roca to make the move.

The 26-year-old could undergo a medical as early as July 4, with Betis keen to tie up the deal before they head for their pre-season trip to Germany a day later.

There aren’t too many supporters who will be sad to see the back of Roca this summer, and it appears as though he is equally as keen to move on.

Roca has clearly done all he can to ensure a move to Betis will go ahead as planned, with the offer of a return to Spain, and the chance to play European football too good to turn down.

Betis have long been keen on securing the signature of Roca having been beaten to his signing 12 months ago by Leeds from Bayern Munich.

Leeds themselves are back for pre-season testing early next week and Roca is scheduled to be among the first group to return to Thorp Arch.

It remains to be seen whether he does indeed do so, with a transfer seemingly on the verge of being wrapped up.
