Leeds United missed out on their fair share of signings to Premier League clubs this summer.
Daniel Farke and the recruitment staff worked hard all window to try and attract the best possible players ready to get Leeds back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Unfortunately when targeting the cream of the crop in the Championship, as a Championship side, comes problems from the division higher up.
Leeds were beaten to the signings of Gustavo Hamer, Cameron Archer and Luke Thomas by Sheffield United, though perhaps the most disappointing saga was Max Aarons.
Aarons was down in Leeds ready to do a medical after a £12 million deal was struck with Norwich City, until Bournemouth swooped in at the 11th hour to prise him to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old had just spent a season in the Championship at Norwich following their relegation in 2022, and was clearly eager to test himself again at the top.
But both individually and as a team, it has not gone to plan for him, with Bournemouth still yet to register a single win from their opening eight matches.
But perhaps more shockingly for Aarons, as per WhoScored’s statistics, he is currently the worst rated player of any Premier League summer signing.
The website has put together a full worst new signing XI that also includes the likes of Kai Havertz, Ashley Young and Pau Torres, but at 6.28, Aarons is the lowest of the lot.
Of course, his rating is likely to be affected by how poor the rest of his team has been, but it doesn’t make great reading for him.
