Georginio Rutter starred once again as Leeds United cruised to a 4-0 on Swansea City on Tuesday – but there were concerns that the Frenchman had picked up an injury during the victory in Wales.
Rutter actually failed to add to his growing tally of 17 goal involvements this term, but he was still just as effective – proving to have a hand in the first. Gary Rowett praised him for his “lovely feet” for the goal.
But it did see the Frenchman leave the field of play annoyed, with Daniel Farke saying afterwards that he was not happy in failing to score or create last night. Clearly, he is possessing high standards right now.
What might come as even more concerning, is that Rutter was seen speaking with performance coach Chris Domogalla at half-time as the two sides left the field of play – complaining, and in ‘discomfort’.
The Evening Post reported: “Rutter looking in discomfort as he came off at the break, indicating some source of his pain to performance coach Chris Domogalla before the pair headed down the tunnel.”

If Leeds are to lose any players right now, you’d say the last player we’d want to lose for a few games is Rutter. Cree Summerville perhaps, but at least Leeds have Willy Gnonto and Dan James on the flanks.
Leeds have no other player in the squad that can do what Rutter does. Joel Piroe is a good option at 10, but he’s not the game-changing option that Leeds have in the form of our club-record signing, Rutter.
Fingers crossed, he is fine and ready to take on Plymouth at Home Park on Saturday lunchtime. The fact he continued after the knock suggests he is fine. Perhaps, he could be rested if winning on Saturday.
