Nuno Espirito Santo was linked with the Leeds United job in 2023 after the sacking of Jesse Marsch – having impressed in the Premier League before. Now, he could throw a spanner in Leeds works.
Nuno starred as Wolves manager and was perhaps a bit unlucky at Tottenham, given his stint started amid the sage of Harry Kane’s failed move to Manchester City. He has since returned to England.
It comes after a successful stint in Saudi Arabia, not only for his wallet. He won the league with Al-Ittihad before being replaced by Marcelo Gallardo – ironically, another manager that has been linked with us.
Rewind a year, and Jesse Marsch was about to get the sack. It was a 1-0 loss at Nuno’s new side that did it, and Javi Gracia replaced him three games later. But Nuno had an interview for the Leeds job.
A move did not materialise with Nuno still under contract at Al-Ittihad. He’s made a wonderful start at Forest, winning both Premier League games against Newcastle and Manchester United. Crucial wins.

Nuno was linked with Leeds job, could now stop transfer activity
Prior to Nuno’s appointment, Wales star Neco Williams had only played in nine Premier League games out of a possible 18. Steve Cooper not convinced on his £16m man. Leeds are keen on the Welshman.
Phil Hay says Nuno is a fan of Williams and in his two Premier League games – and FA Cup match – as Forest manager. Williams has featured in all three. Leeds had targeted a move in the summer, as well.
Nuno is using Williams and given that Hay says he is a fan of the Wales star, it looks as if a manager that Leeds considered hiring and spoke to – could now throw a spanner in our potential transfer activity.
