Daniel Farke is already under enormous pressure, and a Leeds United defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday will make things ominous for the Elland Road manager.
But an Unai Emery stat already suggests it will be a foregone conclusion. LeedsUnited.News understands Farke has been given until January to turn things around, but fan pressure will grow if Leeds lose again.
The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke… should Leeds United sack him?⌛
Graham Smyth thinks Leeds need to beat Villa on Sunday, or get a couple of points in the three games after Villa. No easy feat, given Leeds then take on Manchester City away, Chelsea, and Liverpool at home.
The bottom line is this. The 49ers want to be patient with Farke, but should Leeds lose on Sunday, with such a difficult run coming up, pressure is going to be intense and a heavy defeat could prove toxic.

Unai Emery stat that will prove concerning for Leeds and Farke
There is a scenario in which Unai Emery could have been in the other dugout. Andrea Radrizzani says Leeds missed out on Emery at the end of 2022, by choosing to retain Jesse Marsch instead of sacking him.
Emery has since gone to Villa, replacing Steven Gerrard. The former Arsenal and PSG gaffer has taken a mid-table side in danger of entering the bottom six clubs, to a side competing in the Champions League.
But what is remarkable, and something that has probably gone under the radar among Villa supporters during Emery’s stint at Villa Park, is his form against newly-promoted sides. 17 league games, no losses.
| Season | Games | Promoted sides | W-D-L | Points |
| 2022-23 | 3 | Fulham, Bournemouth, Forest | 3-0-0 | 9/9 |
| 2023-24 | 6 | Sheffield United, Burnley, Luton | 5-1-0 | 16/18 |
| 2024-25 | 6 | Southampton, Leicester, Ipswich | 4-2-0 | 14/18 |
| 2025-26 | 2 | Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland | 1-1-0 | 4/6 |
Leeds United’s last 10 games against Aston Villa
If Emery’s form against the newly-promoted sides doesn’t concern Farke, then Leeds’ last 10 games against Villa will. In the last 10 meetings, Leeds have won only on two occasions in the last 10 outings.
Villa have won four times, while there have been four draws. In the Premier League, in which the last six meetings have occurred, Leeds have only won once and Villa are five games unbeaten against the Whites.
| Date | Competition | Venue | Result |
| 1 December, 2017 | Championship | Elland Road | 1-1 Draw |
| 13 April, 2018 | Championship | Villa Park | 1-0 Villa |
| 23 December, 2018 | Championship | Villa Park | 3-2 Leeds |
| 28 April, 2019 | Championship | Elland Road | 1-1 Draw |
| 23 October, 2020 | Premier League | Villa Park | 3-0 Leeds |
| 27 February, 2021 | Premier League | Elland Road | 1-0 Villa |
| 9 February, 2022 | Premier League | Villa Park | 3-3 Draw |
| 10 March, 2022 | Premier League | Elland Road | 3-0 Villa |
| 2 October, 2022 | Premier League | Elland Road | 0-0 Draw |
| 13 January, 2023 | Premier League | Villa Park | 2-1 Villa |
If there is one thing going for Farke, it’s that the club should have a clean bill of health unless there have been any injuries behind the scenes going into Sunday’s clash at Elland Road. Pressure on, for Farke.
