Leeds United are next in action against Brentford in the Premier League as Daniel Farke takes his side to the G-Tech to face Keith Andrews’ side on Sunday afternoon.

Leeds have developed some momentum in the last week that has not only saved Farke’s job, but has now taken Leeds to 16th in the Premier League. Forest and West Ham’s failure to win saw Leeds climb higher.

Daniel Farke’s job is safe for now, can he get a result against Brentford? 🔮

With Brentford up next on Sunday, Leeds face the inevitable difficulty of going to London. Already this season, Leeds have suffered two defeats in the two games they have played in the capital this season.

The 5-0 at Arsenal, and then the incredibly unlucky 1-0 defeat to Fulham which saw a last-minute freak own goal scored by Gabi Gudmundsson. Brentford’s recent form has not been particularly encouraging.

The last time Daniel Farke faced Brentford, he got the sack

Little over four years ago, Farke was struggling in his second season with Norwich in the Premier League. Ahead of the November international break in 2021, Farke took his Norwich side to Brentford and won.

A 2-1 victory, that finally saw Farke win his first game as Norwich manager that season. But shortly after his first win, which might have relieved some pressure, the Norwich board decided to sack the German.

It ended a four-year stint as manager at Carrow Road for Farke, in which he won the Championship title on two occasions. Now, he returns to Brentford for the first time since he was sacked by the Canaries.

Daniel Farke’s impressive record in eight games against Brentford

During his time at Norwich, Farke faced Brentford on eight occasions – but has never come up against the London side during his time at Leeds. Throughout that period of eight games, Farke’s record is very good.

Five wins against Brentford and only one defeat. That includes a Carabao Cup win in his first-ever match against The Bees. Six games in the Championship – three wins, two draws and a loss. A win in the top tier.

Leeds have a hoodoo against London sides in the Premier League. Their last Premier League win in the capital came under Marcelo Bielsa in January 2022, a 3-2 win including a hat-trick from Jack Harrison.

The Whites will be up against it, but Lukas Nmecha is likely to be fit again after being a late call for the clash against Liverpool. Sean Longstaff and Dan James will remain out of action for Sunday’s clash.
