Leeds United and Man United’s bitter rivalry will return to the Premier League next season, after the Whites won the Championship title.
Going into the 2025/26 Premier League season, many will back Leeds United to struggle. But many will also back Man United to struggle after the Red Devils recorded a record-low 15th place finish.
In the end, only five teams separated Leeds United and Man United in the English football pyramid last season. But Daniel Farke has plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window if he wants his side to even stand a chance next season.
Last year, Southampton beat Leeds United in the Championship play-off final but were relegated with a whimper from the Premier League. Thankfully, though, Leeds United have a £150million transfer budget for this summer, with some exciting names now being linked with a move to Elland Road.

Leeds United want to sign Reinildo Mandava
The list of Leeds United transfer targets is growing all the time. And on Wednesday, a new name in Reinildo Mandava was added to the shortlist. Reports have claimed that Leeds United want to sign Mandava from Atletico Madrid this summer, though Farke is facing competition from both Nottingham Forest and Sunderland for the signing.
And Man United could yet re-enter the race. Last year, Man United were linked with a move for the 31-year-old left-back in a move that almost made history. Born in Mozambique, Mandava would become the first player from his home country to play in the Premier League should he arrive in England this summer.
If Leeds United can fend off the competition to sign Mandava, then, it would see the former Benfica and Lille man make history whilst at Leeds United, whilst at the same time filling what has quickly become a problem position for Farke.

Leeds United are giving a huge Junior Firpo hint right now
Junior Firpo remains a hot topic among fans: is he staying or is he going? Leeds United have offered Firpo a new contract to stay beyond this season but the former Barcelona man seems to be really considering his options, with interest from Spain and Italy.
Mainly, it’s Real Betis who are courting Firpo, and vice-versa. And as time goes by and Firpo and Betis seem more and more entwined, Leeds United are being linked with more and more left-backs, like Mandava.
Recent reports have also revealed how Leeds United want to sign Alex Moreno this summer. It’s all pointing towards Farke and co knowing, or perhaps assuming, that Firpo is off this summer, meaning a new left-back or two will be absolutely vital.
