Leeds United are next in action against Crystal Palace on Saturday night in the first of two remaining fixtures in 2025, and one Leeds player can end a 22-year wait against the Eagles.
Leeds will be hoping they can remain unbeaten until the turn of the year. After five points in the last three games, including a win over Chelsea and draws against Liverpool and Brentford, Leeds now face Palace.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in elite company 🔥⚽
Only two players in Europe's top 5 leagues have scored in the last 4 games
This is a Crystal Palace side that are the current FA Cup and Community Shield champions. But the Whites have a great chance of getting a result at Elland Road on Saturday, not just because Leeds are at home.
But because Crystal Palace play literally 48 hours beforehand on Thursday night, hosting Finnish side KuPS in the Conference League. Oliver Glasner has already made it clear he will make 11 changes.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin eyeing Mark Viduka’s Leeds record
However, Leeds will fancy their chances against Palace too, because of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Sunday night saw Calvert-Lewin head home his fifth Leeds goal, and his fourth goal in four games for the club.

A goal that saw him match a record held by Rod Wallace and Michael Bridges. Now, Calvert-Lewin can write himself into Leeds folklore by matching Mark Viduka’s five consecutive games, back in 2003.
At the end of the 02-03 season, under administration, Viduka ended the season with 13 goals in nine games. In each of the first five, Viduka scored against Man United, Boro, Liverpool, Charlton and Spurs.
Now, Calvert-Lewin can match Viduka’s 22-year record if he finds the back of the net against Palace. His record against the Eagles will certainly offer the 11-time England international some hope of a goal.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s stunning record against Palace
Already, Calvert-Lewin has clocked up 16 appearances against Palace throughout his career, 13 of which have come in the Premier League. Three more have been in the FA Cup, during his nine years at Everton.
Leeds win and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scores – change my mind 👊
Fifth goal in a row, incoming
In that time, remarkably, Calvert-Lewin has lost only once. A total of eight wins and seven draws, while also scoring five goals. All five, and an assist, have come in the Premier League. His one loss, in the Cup.
If Leeds fans are hoping for Calvert-Lewin to continue his stunning goal rate in a Leeds shirt over the last fortnight, then Palace might just be the best side to face, given the England striker’s incredible record.
Who partners Calvert-Lewin up top is another discussion. Farke is likely to start with his 3-5-2 system again and as things stand, Noah Okafor is likely. Farke said he hopes to have Lukas Nmecha available.
