Leeds United boss Daniel Farke will be looking to end a worrying away trend when his side face Burnley in their next Premier League fixture.
Daniel Farke has already claimed one win on the road with Leeds, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring in a 3-1 win against Wolves.
However, Leeds have lost their other two games away from home since returning to the Premier League, conceding six goals in the process.
Leeds’ defence was their Achilles heel on their last visit to the top flight, as both Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch prioritised attacking fluidity over defensive rigidity, ultimately to the detriment of Leeds’ results.
This openness at the back is highlighted by a damaging Leeds statistic that Farke will be desperate to change when his side face Scott Parker’s Burnley this weekend.

Leeds United need to end away defensive issues
According to a statistic shared via the BBC, Leeds are in the middle of a worrying defensive trend in games away from Elland Road.
Since Leeds held Crystal Palace to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park under Jesse Marsch in April 2022, Leeds have kept just one clean sheet in an away Premier League game.
Leeds’ away Premier League record since 1st May 2022:
- Played: 24
- Won: 4
- Drawn: 3
- Lost: 17
- Clean Sheets: 1
- Goals Conceded: 51
That came against Newcastle on 31st December 2022, meaning Leeds have kept just one clean sheet in their last 24 away games, conceding 51 goals in the process.
However, on a more positive note, if Leeds can defy Gabriel Agbonlahor’s prediction and claim a win against Burnley this weekend, it would be the first time they have claimed consecutive away wins in the top flight since April 2022, when they secured wins against Wolves and Watford.

Leeds can consign Burnley to a 131-year first
On the other hand, if Leeds can find the net against Burnley, they can consign Burnley to an unwanted 131-year first.
Burnley have struggled defensively so far this season, conceding 15 goals in their opening seven games of the season.
By contrast, the Clarets only conceded 16 goals in the entire 2024/25 Championship season, which means that a Leeds goal would bring them level with last season’s total.
This would represent a small piece of history, as the last time a team saw their previous season’s goals against tally overturned within the first eight games was in the 1894/95 season, when Liverpool matched their total within the first seven games.
