There is a real feel-good factor at Leeds United right now with the senior side placing one hand on the Championship title, and one foot in the Premier League.
Monday night’s comeback win over Sheffield United trumped the win against Sunderland given it was away from home, and against Chris Wilder’s second-placed side rather than the Black Cats down in 4th.
But it is not just the first team that are impressing at the moment. Daniel Farke’s men have gone without loss for 16 Championship games now, but Scott Gardner’s U21 side are on an unbeaten run themselves.
Indeed, Monday night also saw the second string in action as they play host to Norwich City in Premier League 2. It has been an up-and-down season for the 21’s, but recent form has improved their position.

Rhys Chadwick add to incredible 2024-25 Leeds tally on Monday
While Gardner’s men have managed just six wins in 15 Premier League 2 games this season, they now have three wins and a draw in the last four. A shining light of Gardner’s side is playmaker Rhys Chadwick.
Only turning 18 last week, Chadwick has starred for the 21’s in what is his first full season with the 21’s given his age. Clocking up 24 appearances in all competitions, he took his tally to 22 goals and assists.
A goal and assist came from Chadwick on Monday night as Gardner’s men beat Norwich City at Thorp Arch, to win 2-1. A win that has seen the young Whites climb to 14th place in a 26-team division.
Daniel Farke must be taking note of Chadwick as future no.10
It is a position that Leeds are struggling with in the senior side. Brenden Aaronson continues to shine in one game and struggle for the next five, and yet Daniel Farke continues to start the American for Leeds.
Chadwick signed a new deal at Leeds last summer that will see him remain at Elland Road until June 2026 but if The 49ers have any sense of preserving their future Thorp Arch talents, a new deal must be readied.
Because, Chadwick’s form is showing Leeds and Farke that he has the ability to step up to the senior side if required. Perhaps in pre-season, or even on the bench, Chadwick may get a taste of first-team football.
