Leeds United currently have eight players out on loan among the first team and Under-21 and one of those scored a hat-trick on the weekend for his temporary club.

In the summer, Jack Harrison returned to Everton and Rasmus Kristsensen moved to Frankfurt. The latter has worked with Frankfurt keen to sign Kristensen, but Harrison is on a goal drought of nine months.

Sam Greenwood and Darko Gyabi joined Championship sides Preston and Plymouth, while Sonny Perkins rejoined boyhood club Leyton Orient in League One. Three have followed out on loan since those five.

Luca Thomas is at York, Joe Richards has gone to South Shields on loan while Cian Coleman is at Buxton in the sixth tier, National League North. The young Irishman has been on fire in his six games so far.

Cian Coleman named in Team of the Week after hat-trick

In what is Coleman’s first loan away from Leeds, the 20-year-old has made a superb start at Buxton. A goal and two assists in his first two games, Coleman won the October Player of the Month at Buxton.

Now, he has been named in his the Team of the Week for the National League North after he scored a hat-trick on Saturday during Buxton’s 3-2 away win over Scunthorpe United, as posted on their site.

Coleman is making an impression and it is key for Leeds future

While it is a lowly standard, Coleman is thriving in a Buxton shirt and his form will not have gone amiss at Elland Road. His contract at Leeds expired next summer and he needed to impress to have a chance.

Either, a chance of a renewal or a shot at breaking into the first team. His loan at Buxton is only a short-term deal and the Ireland U19 international will have at least put himself in the shop window for others.
