Leeds United have been linked to right-back Vladimir Coufal after five years with West Ham United.

It’s not yet clear how advanced any talks are with Leeds United or another Premier League side, but Coufal’s representatives have reportedly spoken with Leeds.

West Ham United’s Czech duo in both Tomas Soucek and Coufal have been linked with Leeds this summer but only the latter is available on a free transfer.

There is also competition for his services through as Everton and Leeds both like Coufal and are weighing up a move this summer.

Nothing has materialised yet but some Leeds fans want to sign Coufal on a two-year deal to add competition to the full-back department and bolster their defence.

Now a 32-year-old right-back, Coufal has shown some signs of decline of late. However, he would be a low-cost and low-risk signing given his free agent status.

Now, journalist Darren Witcoop has the latest on Coufal’s future via TEAMtalk. He believes Coufal is expected to reject interest from former club Slavia Prague in his homeland to remain in England.

Not only that, but the report states he favours a reunion with David Moyes at Everton. In spite of the fact Fulham, Wolves and newly-promoted Leeds all chasing his signature.

He hopes to link back up with former boss Moyes on Merseyside, while Witcoop adds that Leeds have been monitoring developments but that they are certainly not as keen as Everton at this stage.

Leeds are missing out on vast Premier League experience in Vladimir Coufal

Jayden Bogle stood out last season and has earned his chance, but Coufal’s Premier League experience would be a valuable addition to the dressing room.

Some Leeds supporters want Coufal over Bogle but that makes little sense for each player at this stage of their respective careers. Bogle is 25 this summer and coming into his prime.

It’s likely to be immaterial now if Coufal has chosen to join Everton to reunite with Moyes after over four years together in East London.
