Leeds United remain in the market for an attacking signing before the end of the summer window, with the deadline now in view on Monday evening.
Leeds have brought in 10 new signings, spending £108.5m in total. But seven of those 10 have been goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders, with only £18m being spent on the final third in Noah Okafor.
Leeds have also brought in Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin for nothing, but the latter is way off where he needs to be, if he wants to play in the Premier League. His debut at Hillsborough proved that.
Calvert-Lewin almost apologised to fans for his debut, missing three golden chances and a penalty in the shootout. Leeds need more in attack and Graham Smyth says Leeds do expect to bring in a new attacker.

Andrea Pinamonti’s future is still ‘one to watch’ after Leeds bid
Plenty are being linked. The likes of Facundo Buonanotte, Bilal El Khannouss, Christantus Uche and many others continue to be touted with a move to Elland Road. But if Leeds need to improve, it is up front.
Joel Piroe has struggled, while Calvert-Lewin isn’t ready and Nmecha was only signed as back-up. Leeds need a striker and at the beginning of August, it was said Leeds had agreed a fee for Andrea Pinamonti.
Pinamonti refused a move, but with a few days left in the window, journalist Ben Jacobs says Pinamonti is ‘one to watch’ before the deadline with his future at Sassuolo still unresolved and a move still expected.
“Andrea Pinamonti’s future one to watch. Sassuolo would prefer to keep the striker, who was discussed by Milan and is on Werder Bremen’s radar. Several European clubs still considering a late-window approach.”
Andrea Pinamonti compared to Leeds’ current options
Pinamonti is an Italy international and on the fringes of the Italy squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup. He knows he needs a move where he will have the best chance of starting games and scoring some goals.
Whether Leeds are the answer for Pinamonti, remains to be seen. He has already rejected a move to Elland Road and it feels unlikely that Leeds will go back in, judging by the players being linked with Leeds.
| Name | Clubs | Games | Minutes | Goals | Assists | Minutes per G+A |
| Andrea Pinamonti | Sassuolo Genoa Inter Empoli Frosinone | 224 | 15726 | 54 | 12 | 238.3 |
| Lukas Nmecha | Wolfsburg Preston Middlesbrough Anderlecht Leeds Man City | 189 | 10421 | 44 | 12 | 186.1 |
| Joel Piroe | Leeds Swansea PSV Sparta Rotterdam | 240 | 15272 | 84 | 18 | 149.7 |
| Dominic Calvert-Lewin | Leeds Everton Northampton Stalybridge Sheffield United | 317 | 20026 | 85 | 23 | 185.4 |
It feels like Leeds want an attacker that can play out wide, or as a 10, rather than signing another striker. But that will come as a concern to supporters, given the quality of the current options Daniel Farke has.
