Leeds United are one of the Premier League sides interested in signing Josh Brownhill with the midfielder set to attract plenty of Premier League offers, according to a report from 90min.

The Whites are continuing their push to strengthen their ranks. Of course, Marc Roca has already arrived. But it is looking likely that Kalvin Phillips will need to be replaced in the near future.

Roca will bring plenty of quality on the ball. And he is not afraid to get stuck in. But Jesse Marsch may perhaps be looking to add more bite in the middle of the park.

And 90min reports that Leeds want Brownhill. Meanwhile, there is competition from the likes of Southampton and West Ham. Everton, Leicester City and Brentford also want the 26-year-old.

Brownhill was relegated with Burnley last season. But he did do well for the Clarets, with 90min noting that no player in their squad made more interceptions in the Premier League.

He is not known for his ability on the ball. So the links are likely to divide many of the Leeds fans.

Leeds interested in Brownhill

Brownhill may not be an exciting signing should he end up at Elland Road. Certainly, it is hard to imagine him being a player that Marcelo Bielsa would have wanted while he had Phillips in the ranks.

But it would be unfair to write him off. Obviously, Leeds should not break the bank to sign him. But if he is available for a reasonable price, we could do a lot worse.

He has bags of Premier League experience. And he is someone opposition players probably do not enjoy battling against.

And in Marsch’s system, having someone capable of winning the ball back as quickly as Phillips does looks imperative.
