Patrick Bamford remains on the books at Leeds United with just three weeks until the end of the transfer window, and any hope of an emotional return to a former side has now been ruled out.
Bamford’s contract is due to expire in a year and with Leeds likely to be keen on offloading the one-time England man due to his high wages, nothing has been sorted when it comes to the striker’s future.
It comes after Daniel Farke informed Bamford that he is not a part of his plans going into the 2025-26 season. Bamford is said to have taken it well, and Bamford has since been playing in the Under-21 side.
Indeed, Bamford is even said to have run a half-marathon earlier this month. But in terms of his future at Leeds, the striker is yet to find himself a new club with the transfer window getting older and older.

Middlesbrough move for Patrick Bamford now ruled out
There were suggestions and rumours all over social media about a potential return to Middlesbrough for Bamford. Leeds spent £10m to sign Bamford from Middlesbrough seven years ago, under Marcelo Bielsa.
Boro are expected to be in the market for a new striker. But according to Northern Echo reported Dom Shaw, there is no interest from Boro to do a deal. Shaw confirmed Boro’s stance in response to a fan.
He simply said, on X: “No interest at all.”
Boro not the only club to rule themselves out of Bamford running
Earlier this summer, following the news regarding Bamford’s future at Leeds, Wrexham chief Humphrey Ker was asked if Bamford could move to The Racecourse this summer following Wrexham’s promotion.
Ker instantly denied a possible Wrexham move, with Leeds fan Chris Moyles posing the question. The Welsh side have since signed three strikers in Ryan Hardie, Josh Windass, and target man Kieffer Moore.
For Bamford, time is running out to find himself a new home. Bamford is in danger of spending the 2025-26 season on the sidelines at Leeds, turning out here and there alongside new addition Jonny Howson.
