Ivan Toney is already surrounded by speculation ahead of the January transfer window and LeedsUnitedNews have exclusively learned Leeds United’s stance on signing him.
The January transfer window is still seven weeks away but Leeds United will hopefully be gearing up for an important and busy month.
Robbie Evans has claimed Leeds would rather not spend in January and that the club maxed out their PSR leeway in the summer, but the club is increasingly looking in need of new recruits if they are to survive in the Premier League.
A dreadful month of results has left them teetering a point above the relegation zone, with a brutal run of fixtures to come on the lead-up to Christmas. By the time the window finally opens, Leeds could be marooned in the bottom three.
So signings are looking essential if Leeds want to avoid the drop and Daniel Farke especially needs more firepower in his arsenal, with his side scoring just 10 goals in 11 games so far.
A striker must be high up the list but Ivan Toney is not set to be one of the names on it.

Ivan Toney is ‘not on Leeds United’s radar’ ahead of the January transfer window
While still in his prime and being linked with top Premier League clubs, Toney made the surprising career move of leaving Brentford for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli in the summer of 2024.
He has continued his fine form in the Middle East, scoring 41 goals in 59 games so far, leading to increasing speculation that a Premier League team may try and tempt the still-just-29-year-old back to England.
Leeds have been mentioned as a possible destination for Toney, but LeedsUnitedNews transfer guru, Graeme Bailey, believes the club are not considering him at the moment.
“I can confirm he is not on Leeds’ radar,” Bailey exclusively told LeedsUnitedNews. “He’s not been discussed by Leeds.
“Everton, West Ham and Tottenham [are interested] but Leeds aren’t in the mix.
“I’m told Toney is not going to leave as it stands anyway; he’s not going to move.”
Strikers Leeds United could sign instead of Ivan Toney
If Toney is not in the equation, then Leeds fans may be wondering just who the club could sign to complement or even replace the strike force of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha, Joel Piroe and youngster Harry Gray.
The quartet have just three goals between them so far this season, though Gray is still waiting for his chance from Farke to play in the top flight.
Given managing director Evans’ claims about Leeds’ summer spending, it doesn’t appear they have much in the coffers for January, though they did fail in attempts to sign Facundo Buonanotte and Harry Wilson before the window closed, so there might be some funds available.
Regardless, Leeds are unlikely to have buckets of cash to splash, which shrinks the pool of possible targets considerably.
One name that continues to be linked is Coventry City’s Haji Wright, whose nine goals have helped fire Frank Lampard’s team to the top of the Championship.
Whether Coventry will let a star striker leave when they’re pushing for promotion remains to be seen, but he’s an in-form striker and Leeds are in desperate need of one.
