Crysencio Summerville’s move to West Ham was confirmed over the weekend as Leeds United rubber stamped their seventh permanent sale, and half of the fee could be spent on a Premier League player.
Summerville, 22, joined the likes of Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Charlie Cresswell in being sold by The 49ers this summer. He joins West Ham for an initial £25m fee, with add-ons taking a deal to over £30m.
Leeds are expected to reinvest over the course of the next few weeks. Daniel Farke is keen to sign a full-back given he only has three options at right-back and left-back, despite the signing of Jayden Bogle.
Sam Byram and Junior Firpo are his only two other options, while a new winger is now needed after the sale of Summerville. Jaidon Anthony and Ian Poveda have also left the club, leaving Leeds light out wide.

Farke is also keen on replacing Kamara and signing a midfielder that can score from deep. Gabriel Sara was a target, but he is set to join Galatasaray after the Turkish side had a £20m bid accepted for him.
Another option for Leeds in the middle of the park is Liverpool ace Bobby Clark. Described as “fantastic” by Jurgen Klopp, the 19-year-old played 12 of his 14 senior Liverpool outings during the 2023-24 season.
Leeds are keen on a loan deal but face competition from Sheffield United, Coventry City and Norwich City this summer. RedBull Salzburg, managed by Klopp’s old assistant Pep Ljinders, are also interested in him.

Liverpool would rather a permanent sale of Bobby Clark
But a loan does not interest in Arne Slot’s side and instead, they would rather cash in on the England U20 star. The Mirror claim in Sunday’s paper edition (04/08, p83) that they want a fee of £12m to sell Clark.
That would mean Leeds splash half of the initial fee received for Summerville on the Liverpool talent, who is the son of former Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark. He has a contract at Anfield until June 2028.
Whether Leeds pursue a permanent deal remains to be seen but there is no doubt that Leeds are on the lookout for new additions, ahead of Saturday’s Championship opener against Portsmouth at Elland Road.
