Leeds United one of three Premier League clubs in talks for striker that has just sacked his agent

It is just a week until Leeds United begin their Premier League campaign with the welcome of Everton at Elland Road under the lights next Monday, but Leeds are yet to sign a starting striker.

Adam Underwood has been incredibly busy this summer and yet, Leeds’ seven signings is only a fraction of the work Burnley and Sunderland have done in the window. That does not mean anything at this stage.

Burnley have chalked up 13 additions, though four were permanent deals for loan players and Sunderland have lured 10 in, which is soon to be 11 with the addition of Paraguay ace Omar Aldarete from Getafe.

Leeds need more, even if they started on a better base than Burnley and certainly Sunderland. One area Leeds need to improve is up top, especially after Mateo Joseph and Joe Gelhardt have been sent on loan.

Striker sacks agent amid Leeds, Man United and Newcastle talks

When Leeds signed Lukas Nmecha, the club made it clear that they were planning to sign another striker who would go above Nmecha in the pecking order. But that is yet to arrive, amid plenty of rumours.

Leeds still believe they will get a deal done for Rodrigo Muniz. But, nothing has materialised and another linked is Dom Calvert-Lewin. The England star is a free agent after leaving Monday’s opponents Everton.

Some reports say Leeds walked away from talks with Calvert-Lewin because his agents were requesting a huge £150,000 a week. Well, TalkSPORT now say Calvert-Lewin has sacked his agent in search of a move.

TalkSPORT continue that three Premier League clubs have held talks to land the former Sheffield United man, in the form of Leeds, Man United and Newcastle. Leeds may feel they need more than one striker.

Dom Calvert-Lewin’s record against Leeds United in the past

Throughout his career, Calvert-Lewin has played against Leeds on four separate occasions. The striker has an impressive two goals, two wins, an assist and only one defeat during his appearances against Leeds.

With Leeds now only boasting two strikers in the first team, The Whites may feel they need more than just one option. Patrick Bamford remains on the books for another year, but has been told he has no future.

Calvert-Lewin could be the man to come in and provide Leeds with something a bit different up front, as fans remain concerned that Piroe or Nmecha can provide the difference. But it may depend on his wages.
