Leeds are not expected to be incredibly busy in the transfer market this winter, but one or two new faces might arrive.
Daniel Farke revealed in his press conference on Friday that he is not expecting any arrivals before the FA Cup clash against Derby on Sunday 11th January – but it sounds as if work is ongoing behind the scenes to strengthen the squad with survival still roughly 20 points away.
Several targets have been identified – such as Harry Wilson and Troy Parrott – but a story from TEAMtalk now states that Leeds have decided to push on with a defensive reinforcement in Danilho Doekhi.
Leeds United decide to advance in pursuit of Danilho Doekhi after ignoring Manor Solomon
TEAMtalk now state that intermediaries offered Leeds the chance to bring Manor Solomon back to Elland Road as the Israeli sought an exit from Villarreal.
Should Leeds sign a replacement for Joe Rodon or finally hand Sebastiaan Bornauw a chance? 🤔
The Belgian has played just two minutes of Premier League football since his £5.1m move from VfL Wolfsburg in July… 😬
However, the 49ers rejected the opportunity, and the 26-year-old has now joined Fiorentina on loan with a view to an £8.7m permanent move.
Losing Joe Rodon, after the Welshman suffered ankle ligament damage at Sunderland, and the switch to a 3-5-2 formation has seemingly led Leeds to prioritise a new central defender instead of an attacker.
Sky Sports recently claimed that Leeds identified Doekhi as a potential arrival to beef up the defensive depth, and TEAMtalk now believe the Whites have decided to push ahead with a deal for the Dutchman.

It is a highly realistic – and seemingly easy – deal for Leeds to complete.
The 27-year-old has already decided to leave Union Berlin ahead of his contract expiring in July, so the Bundesliga outfit are open to a sale now rather than risk losing the defender for nothing.
TEAMtalk believe the German side currently value Doekhi at £11.3m due to his contract situation.
Danilho Doekhi signifies a no-brainer for Leeds United and is absolutely perfect for Daniel Farke
It should be music to the ears of Leeds fans to hear that recruitment staff are pushing ahead to sign the man from Rotterdam – he is the ideal January signing.
The Union Berlin No.5 has been playing as part of a back three all season under Steffen Baumgart, so he is likely to adapt seamlessly to the 3-5-2 Farke has implemented.
Agree or disagree – Joe Rodon is the last player Leeds United could afford to lose to injury 🤕
The centre back limped off midway through the first half against Sunderland
Doekhi also knows Brenden Aaronson and Pascal Struijk, two former teammates who can help convince him to move to Yorkshire, and also help him settle in if an agreement does materialise.
For just over £11m, this could prove to be one of the signings of the winter – if not the season – if Leeds manage to pull it off.
