Leeds United make stance clear on Largie Ramazani after Valencia form

Leeds United have already made their decision on Largie Ramazani amid the winger’s comments on his future, and his recent form at Valencia.

Leeds do not actually have a decision to make, in sorts. Last summer, they fought to keep a buy option out of Ramazani’s contract when the Belgian winger was sent on loan to Carlos Corberan’s Valencia.

According to El Desmarque, Valencia have sounded out a move to keep Ramazani, but Leeds structured the deal so that outcome was never in Valencia’s control.

He was loaned without a purchase option, a decision reinforced internally by Robbie Evans who made clear the club insisted on retaining full control over his future.

Evans said at the time: “We simply said there’s no way you’re getting an option on this player. Our hope is he has a phenomenal season and comes back. Same story for Largie who also has no buy option because we insisted we had the option to bring him back to the club.”

That aligns with the fact Leeds appreciate him and have no need to sell, which leaves Valencia’s interest as confirmation of value rather than a trigger for negotiation.

Ramazani’s Valencia form has justified Leeds’ plan

Ramazani has delivered six goals in three months, six in his last 12 league games, showing clear growth once fully integrated. It came after a difficult start in which Ramazani spent time out injured.

He has also accounted for 19% of Valencia’s goals and helped earn 16 points, turning a steady loan into a decisive attacking contribution.

That surge has come after a slow start where injury and lack of trust limited his minutes, underlining that his current output is not a short spike but the result of consistent selection.

The loan was about development, not disposal

Leeds sent him out on a season-long loan after he left for regular football following increased competition in the squad under Daniel Farke. His first season at Leeds was somewhat intermittent.

They had already rejected attempts to include a purchase clause, with Valencia failing to secure a buy option, which ensured Leeds would benefit from any improvement.

That decision now looks deliberate rather than cautious because Ramazani’s value has risen while Leeds’ position has not weakened. It proves that Evans’ plan with Ramazani has worked.

Leeds now have a player worth keeping, not selling

Ramazani’s connection to Leeds extends beyond numbers after he played a visible role in promotion celebrations, which strengthened his relationship with supporters.

Six goals in 12 for Valencia.

He also contributed seven goals in all competitions during the title-winning campaign, showing he can already produce within the club’s system.

Speaking recently,as per El Desmarque, he said: “We will analyse everything at the end of the season and I will keep working as I have been. I have ambition and I will work until the end of the season.”

With uncertainty over another loan and clear upward momentum, the logic now points in one direction. Leeds kept control of Ramazani for this exact scenario, and a return now looks the likeliest scenario.
