Leeds United have a ‘tangible possibility’ of signing winger who once tore Gareth Southgate’s England apart

Leeds United know only top class players to replace Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter will suffice and it appears they have a genuine chance of landing one.

Though Farke has admitted it is going to be impossible to find additions as good as them individually, the cash raised through their sales should enable some real quality to come through the door.

In fact, Leeds appear as though they have finally found a replacement for one of them with a deal of just under £10 million having been agreed with UD Almeria for Largie Ramazani.

Ramazani is expected to come in and be the replacement for Summerville and so that leaves Leeds now on the lookout for someone to fill the void left by the ‘unique’ Rutter.

Farke told his recruitment team in January to start preparing for life without Rutter in the event Leeds did not get promoted, and so it will be interesting to see what sort of solution they come up with.

Leeds have ‘tangible possibility’ of Roland Sallai deal

With Ramazani’s arrival to be potentially confirmed as early as today, you would imagine Leeds have now moved on from players such as Jack Clarke.

Given Ramazani is similar to that of Summerville in that he is a right-footed winger, Leeds should be in the market for the opposite of that, meaning links to Manuel Benson and Ilan Kebbal make sense.

However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, there is a new high profile name to add to the list of targets and that is Freiburg’s Roland Sallai.

The report states Sallai was a name under consideration earlier in the window but nothing ever came of it as a deal was deemed as unlikely.

However, with the clock ticking until next Friday’s deadline, it is said a move to Leeds is now a ‘tangible possibility’ as he very much features on the list of targets.

Sallai has less than 12 months remaining on his deal at the Bundesliga side and would be a significant coup if Leeds were able to land him.

Who is new Leeds target Roland Sallai?

As mentioned, Sallai would be a major signing for Leeds if they can get it done as he has plenty of pedigree both at international and club level.

At 27, Sallai has been capped on 52 occasions by Hungary, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists. Incidentally, he actually scored twice in a 4-0 win over England at Molineux a couple of years ago.

Sallai is described as both footed by Transfermarkt and can play both as a number 10 or winger, and has had a really good career at Freiburg.

His time at the Bundesliga side has seen him register 27 goals and 23 assists in 161 matches, including a prolific campaign in the Europa League last season.
