Leeds United have given permission to a young player to fly to Spain and go on trial with a League One club this summer, where he could reunite with another player who has left Leeds.
The 49ers and the Leeds transfer department continue to work on outgoings and bringing in some many at Elland Road. Glen Kamara became the sixth sale this summer, with a number of players set to follow.
Willy Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, Junior Firpo, Rasmus Kristensen and Max Wober are all expected to leave the club in the coming days and weeks before Leeds enter the market for some incoming signings.
But there is also a focus on the future of some of Leeds’ young stars this summer. One player in question is young defender Jeremiah Mullen, a 20-year-old that has already been out on loan at Inverness.

Mullen only managed four appearances north of the border due to a back injury and it forced him to return to Thorp Arch ahead of schedule. Described as “brilliant” by Michael Skubala, he is set for a move.
Indeed, the Yorkshire Evening Post say Mullen has flown out to Spain after Leeds gave the green light for the Scotland U21 star to go on trial at Stockport County, who won promotion to League One last term.
It sees Mullen link up with Lew Bate, who left Leeds on a free this summer and signed on at Stockport. It is unclear if he will sign on loan, or permanently, with a year left on the two-year deal he signed in 2023.
Mullen is not the only young player who could be about to leave
A move to Stockport would be a brilliant club to join for Mullen, ahead of a challenging season. With Stockport promoted, they are preparing for what is likely to be a tough season in England’s third tier.
Given he has only played four times at senior level in Scottish football, a move to Stockport hands Mullen the chance to get senior game time and with the focus likely to be on defence, a really good test for him.
He is not the only young player being linked with a move. Goalkeeper Darryl Ombang is expected to join National League North side Farsley Celtic on loan, despite playing against Rangers this week in a friendly.
