Leeds United have been linked with Gustavo Hamer, with Sussex Live reporting that the Whites are one of a number of sides monitoring the Coventry City star.
Hamer has enjoyed two impressive years in the Championship with the Sky Blues. Hamer is not a traditional defensive midfielder. He stands at just 5 ft 5 ins. And he has contributed 10 assists in the Championship this past season.

But in doing more research about the player, something struck me about the Brazilian-born Dutchman.
Hamer spent two seasons with PEC Zwolle before his move to England. So, would that mean that Hamer played alongside surely the worst signing Victor Orta has made during his time at Elland Road?

Unfortunately for Orta, his success rate at Leeds is not as good as fans would like. He has produced some masterstrokes, with the likes of Raphinha and Joe Gelhardt.
But there have been some shockers. And no move has been quite as baffling as the deal for Ouasim Bouy back in 2017.
Gustavo Hamer set to follow Ouasim Bouy and sign for Leeds?
Not only did Leeds sign the 28-year-old, but they handed him a four-year deal. He was loaned out immediately. And he never played once for the club.
He stayed for the full duration of his contract. And he has most recently been playing in Qatar.
One of the loan spells for Bouy saw him join PEC Zwolle. And, as it turns out, he went on to play 11 times alongside Hamer.
The pair completed 90 minutes together once. Ultimately, the club won just two of those 11 games. Interestingly, Bouy was on the pitch for longer on both occasions. But Hamer certainly saw more action across those fixtures.
Of course, this information is almost totally irrelevant. But it is interesting that he will have probably seen Bouy play a lot more than any Leeds fan.
