Leeds midfield target and Jaidon Anthony set for medicals at Championship club on Monday

Leeds United are expected to have a busy final week of the transfer window but it seems Burnley are the most-active in the final days of the window currently, with three players undergoing a medical.

Scott Parker’s side suffered defeat to Sunderland on the weekend, a Black Cats side that were without star player Jack Clarke. The winger was busy completing a £20m move to Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

Burnley have moved quickly following that 1-0 loss on Wearside, with three signings set to be completed in the coming hours. Parker’s side had just green-lighted the £15m exit of Dara O’Shea to Clarke’s side.

Indeed, three new players have rocked up at Turf Moor to undergo medicals at Parker’s new side as the English gaffer looks to get Burnley back in the Premier League at the first attempt over the next season.

Anthony set to join Connor Roberts’ Burnley with two others

Anthony, 24, has been loosely linked with a return to Leeds this summer. But instead, The Whites have moved for Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon. It comes after having a hand in four goals in 38 games.

But Leeds chose not to extend his loan from Bournemouth and now, he is set to reunite with his old Bournemouth boss Parker at Burnley. Alongside him, is Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.

Young midfielder Hannibal had been linked with a move to Leeds but it seems he is off to Turf Moor according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. Brighton’s Jeremy Sarmiento is also set for a Burnley medical.

Tavolieri said: “Big incomings for the Clarets today! Hannibal Mejbri, Jeremy Sarmiento, Jaidon Anthony are all at Turf today for medical tests in order to complete their move to the Championship club.”

When Anthony and Roberts are set for an Eland Road return

It is unclear if any of the three signings made by Burnley will be permanent deals, though Brighton are requesting a £7m fee for Ecuador star Sarmiento – a player we suggests Leeds should consider signing.

Anthony has little future at Bournemouth even though he has made the bench in both of Bournemouth’s opening two games and he is likely to be open to a permanent deal, maybe playing in front of Roberts.

Roberts and Anthony then, if he signs and passes a medical, will return to Elland Road to face Daniel Farke and Leeds on September 14. A game that will see two Championship promotion contenders do battle.
