‘Class act’… Neil Redfearn says 26-year-old player would be perfect for Leeds United

Neil Redfearn has suggested that Middlesbrough midfielder Daniel Barlaser would be a good signing for Daniel Farke’s Leeds United.

The former Leeds head coach made the comments after the match between the Whites and Boro at Elland Road on Saturday.

Daniel Barlaser would look good for Leeds United

Well, Leeds United took on Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds won 3-2. All five goals came in the first half. It was one of the most entertaining 45 minutes of football we will see in the Championship this season. Middlesbrough ended the game with 10 men.

Neil Redfearn was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds. The former Leeds head coach was impressed with Barlaser and believes that he would look good in Daniel Farke’s team.

Barlaser was one of two holding midfielders for Middlesbrough against Leeds. The 26-year-old former Newcastle United prospect provided an assist.

Redfearn said on BBC Radio Leeds: “Daniel Barlaser is probably one of the best midfield players in the division for me. Class act. Good player. He would look good in this Leeds side.”

Daniel Barlaser doing well for Middlesbrough

Daniel Barlaser has been on the books of Middlesbrough since January 2023 when he joined from Rotherham United.

The 26-year-old has been very good for Boro and is one of the best midfielders in the Championship.

The midfielder has made eight starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Middlesbrough this season.

Barlaser has given two assists in those games. The midfielder has also provided two assists in four Carabao Cup ties this campaign.

Leeds are third in the Championship table with 38 points from 19 matches, while Middlesbrough are 12th with 27 points from 19 games.
