Leeds United have been in the running to sign Caoimhin Kelleher throughout 2025. But where the Liverpool man eventually ends up is anyone’s guess.
Caoimhin Kelleher is looking nailed on to leave Liverpool this summer after failing to hold down a place in the starting XI under Arne Slot, and there’s certainly no shortage of interest in the Republic of Ireland international.
The 26-year-old Kelleher has had links all over England since the January transfer window. Leeds United are one of the teams linked with Kelleher but all along, it’s looked like a pretty ambitious deal for Daniel Farke’s side.
Earlier in the summer we revealed that Leeds United have enquired about Kelleher. But the price tag has remained a sticking point: some reports have claimed that Liverpool want as much as £40million for Kelleher this summer, despite his contract expiring in a year’s time.
But a new, much lower price tag has now been revealed, along with the four clubs looking to sign him.

Leeds United in four-horse race to sign £20million-rated Caoimhin Kelleher
Daily Mail has now revealed all about the transfer interest in Kelleher. They write that Liverpool ‘want around’ £25million for Kelleher which is much lower than this previous £40million suggestion, and lower than the £30million estimation that’s been banded around as well for Kelleher, who Jurgen Klopp described as the ‘best no.2 in the world’.
The same report also goes on to reveal that ‘Liverpool will not stand in his way if the price is right’, naming Leeds United, Brentford, Bournemouth, and West Ham as his current suitors ahead of the summer transfer window opening on June 1st.
Recent reports revealed that Brentford have enquired about signing Kelleher this summer. Interestingly, there’s no mention of Aston Villa who were linked with Kelleher recently. The race to sign Kelleher is very much open, then, but it remains a difficult one for Leeds United, especially being the newly-promoted team in this particular transfer race.

Caoimhin Kelleher has made his feelings on leaving Liverpool clear
Liverpool have just signed a new goalkeeper in Giorgi Mamardashvili who will become Slot’s no.2 next season, leaving Kelleher as third-choice.
Kelleher is capable of being a Premier League no.1 himself and he knows it. Speaking recently, Kelleher gave his verdict on his future at Liverpool, stating: “I feel like I’m a number one and good enough to play week-in, week-out. And that’s what I’m looking to do.”
The stage is set for him to seal a reasonably big-money move away from Anfield this summer. But where he ends up could largely be decided by who comes in with the best offer.
Liverpool are simply waiting for offers to come in now: if Leeds United can get there first and table £25million or so, then Kelleher could be Farke’s new no.1 for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
