Everton have confirmed that Abdoulaye Doucoure is leaving The Toffees on a free transfer this summer and Leeds United have been linked with signing the soon-to-be free agent.

Leeds are expected to be busy in the transfer market, with The Whites requiring a new goalkeeper, a left-back, a centre-back, a couple of midfielders, Manor Solomon or a winger, a no.10 and a proven striker.

To improve their current options, Leeds might have to spend £20m-£30m on each position if they are to survive in the Premier League. But eight new signings at £30m each is obviously going to be too much.

There will need to be a loan and couple of free agent arrivals to boost Leeds’ chances of spending big elsewhere. One player that fits that category is Abdoulaye Doucoure, who is set to become a free agent.

Abdoulaye Doucoure demands revealed amid Leeds interest

Angus Kinnear’s new side have published their retained list and it has been confirmed that Doucoure will leave Everton on a free transfer. Leeds are said to battling Roma to land Doucoure on a free transfer.

It is likely that other clubs will become interested in Doucoure, with Saudi Arabia touted as a possible landing spot. TeamTalk now share how much Doucoure is looking to be paid when he signs a new deal.

Indeed, they report his demands are enormous. A whopping £8m a year or £160,000 a week, the kind of wages that might only be achievable for Doucoure if he does move to the Middle East this summer.

Doucoure urged to ignore Saudi Arabia and consider Leeds move

According to former Mali star Mahamadou N’Diaye, Doucoure still has Premier League quality and can still make an impact for the next few seasons. He has backed a potential move to Leeds this summer.

N’Diaye backed Doucoure to join Leeds, on Africa Foot: “Doucouré is a top player who can continue his career in the Premier League with another club. He could be a great addition to Leeds United.”

He would be a fantastic addition as Adam Underwood looks to bring in Premier League experience. But if he wants £160,000 a week at Elland Road, a move has no chance – he has to reduce his wage demands.
