Leeds failed to land some attacking targets during the summer transfer window.

The 49ers made a late swoop to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham on transfer deadline day, only for the Wales international to remain at Craven Cottage.

Leeds also wanted to sign another winger in Jeremie Boga – and the Ivory Coast international could now suddenly be available after things turned nasty at OGC Nice.

Leeds made a £13m bid for Boga back in July as attacking reinforcements were targeted, after Manor Solomon returned to Tottenham.

It was rejected and the Ivorian ended up staying, but RMC Sport now claim that the 28-year-old wants to leave as soon as possible amid a “crisis” in Nice.

A 3-1 defeat against Lorient on Sunday has sparked chaos at Nice, with a group of furious ultras attacking Boga and Terem Moffi following the result as manager Franck Haise also offers his resignation.

RMC Sport believe Boga has consequently decided he never wants to play for OGC Nice again, and is ready to leave as soon as he possibly can with just weeks until the winter transfer window opens.

The OGC Nice No.7 still has a contract running until July 2027. The longer the French club – who spent £17m to sign him from Atalanta in July 2023 – leave this situation, the more his value will depreciate.

After being physically attacked by fans, it feels like there is no way back for Boga at the Ligue 1 outfit, so it is now very possible that the winger is sold in January.

Leeds were already light on wingers anyway before the Wales international was hurt.
