Daniel Farke is looking for more goals from his Leeds United midfield and is keen on bringing another body to Elland Road in that area, in order to replace the loss of Glen Kamara.
Kamara, Ilia Gruev and Archie Gray managed two goals between them last season, even with Gray and Kamara playing more advanced. Nancy Froston said on The Athletic that Leeds want a midfield signing.
With the opener against Portsmouth now less than two weeks away, time is running out to make a new signing and a free agent could be considered by Farke. Here are three options he may want to consider.

Steven Alzate
Seven-time Colombia star Alzate, 25, has left Brighton on a free after spending the last two seasons on loan at Standard Liege. Playing as a box-to-box midfielder in Belgium, he clocked up 54 appearances.
Within those games, London-born Alzate had a hand in 14 goals. Five of his own, and nine assists. A solid return from the middle of the park and that is something that Farke is looking to inject into his Leeds side.
It is unclear whether Alzate will return to England or look for pastures new in Europe, but at 25 and with seven international caps, he will certainly be a man in demand. A very solid signing, if Leeds lured him in.
Marco van Ginkel
English football fans may remember a young van Ginkel rocking up to Chelsea but failing to ever really have an impact. He went on loan five times, three of which were to PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie.
Then joining permanently, van Ginkel played 118 games for PSV and had a hand in 48 games, winning the Eredivisie twice. A move to Vitesse saw him continue his incredible ratio of goals and assists in Holland.
Now 31, van Ginkel is a free agent but suitors will not be few and far between for the Netherlands star with his eight caps. Stats like his 89 goals and assists in 227 Eredivisie games would improve Leeds.

Stuart Armstrong
The 32-year-old midfielder was part of Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad in the summer but despite having a solid impact throughout 2023-24, the former Celtic star was released by Southampton after promotion.
Now, he is on the lookout for a club with Brentford and Sheffield United linked (as per The 72). Versatile, Armstrong is able to play as a central midfielder, out wide or in the 10 role and his experience is crucial.
If he would want to form a reunion with Joe Rothwell at Elland Road this summer remains to be seen. But, he would be another excellent addition if Farke wants creativity and goals from his midfield two this term.
