Sebastiaan Bornauw might now regret Leeds United move even more amid rumour coming from Elland Road

Sebastiaan Bornauw is yet to play a single second of Premier League football for Leeds.

Since his £5.1m move from Wolfsburg in July, the Belgian has only featured in the Carabao Cup, playing 121 minutes of the shock defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

Daniel Farke has not even named the 26-year-old on his bench in six of the 11 Premier League outings so far.

If that hadn’t already left Sebastiaan Bornauw with concerns over his future at Elland Road, whispers of a move for Tylel Tati will surely evoke some worry.

Further question marks arise over Sebastiaan Bornauw as Leeds United register Tylel Tati interest

Leeds are now keen to sign Tati from Nantes – according to On The Minute.

The towering 17-year-old is already a regular for the French side, making 11 starts out of a possible 12 in Ligue 1 so far this season, with Manchester United and Chelsea also monitoring his development.

As aforesaid, Farke is not even using Bornauw at the moment despite just having one name ahead of him in the pecking order in Pascal Struijk – Joe Rodon and Jaka Bijol are the current starting duo – so the situation would become even more bleak if Tati arrived to add further competition.

The Belgium international is still contracted to Leeds for some time as well, with his deal running until July 2029, so he is surely questioning what the plan is for his future in Yorkshire.

Daniel Farke explanation for Sebastiaan Bornauw absence offers little explanation as to why he was signed

Farke has explained the situation involving Bornauw, but it probably annoyed the Belgian even more.

The Leeds boss said: “It’s always a bit tricky at centre-back, you don’t change it much. Wingers, strikers, creative midfielders (you change). If you’re chasing a game, changing a centre-back doesn’t make much of an impact.”

In that case, why was Bornauw signed when Farke already had Rodon, Struijk and Bijol to fill two positions?

We highly doubt the Belgian accepted such a backstage role during talks to join Leeds, and the news that Tati is now a target is sure to irk him.
