Ranking Leeds United’s eight goals this season so far from worst to best

Add as preferred source on Google

Leeds United have had a decent start to the 2025/26 Premier League campaign under Daniel Farke, scoring eight goals in all competitions.

Seven of those goals have been scored in the league in their seven Premier League outings so far, with one Leeds United strike against Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup.

They were defeated that day, and there are certainly more goals to come from this Leeds team over the course of the next eight months of the campaign.

The Whites have had seven unique scorers of their eight goals overall. But how do they rank from worst to best so far? We have had a stab at ranking them, here.

Leeds United’s eight goals this season ranked

8) Noah Okafor vs Tottenham Hotspur

Despite the quality of the build-up before it, a tap-in from close range can never be ranked too highly. Noah Okafor’s second strike of the season is his first entry onto this list against Tottenham Hotspur.

Okafor’s goal against Spurs was almost disallowed, but it stood and it was an important one at the time. It was a game which ultimately ended in defeat, though.

7) Lukas Nmecha vs Everton

A penalty, no matter how well struck, can only rank so highly. Lukas Nmecha’s strike was sweetly hit in a pressurised situation, but it can’t come any higher than seventh on the list.

The fact it was a match-winner and that it was so far out of Jordan Pickford’s reach in the 1-0 victory helps it to survive bottom. However, it was an incredibly important goal to get Leeds off the mark; bonus points for that, certainly.

6) Jayden Bogle vs Sheffield Wednesday

Jayden Bogle is a former Sheffield United player and he scored a neatly finished goal against Sheffield Wednesday but as a Leeds United player. That is a wonderful concoction from his perspective.

Not so wonderful was the result, but Willy Gnonto’s role in the assist and the quality of the finish place Bogle in sixth. He is perhaps unfortunate that the result tarnishes the quality of the finish.

5) Noah Okafor vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Okafor’s second entry on the list is perhaps somewhat unfortunate to only be fifth, with a weaker foot finish from a swift transition perhaps deserving of more.

His neatly tucked in strike across the goalkeeper wasn’t perfectly in the corner but it was the goal which gave Leeds breathing room against Wolverhampton Wanderers after excellent work from Anton Stach. Nice goal.

4) Joe Rodon vs AFC Bournemouth

Joe Rodon has developed a knack for scoring of late and the quality of his header against Bournemouth is not to be downplayed. That’s despite a slight deflection helping it in.

He headed it with real power and accuracy to equalise and celebrated in classic Rodon fashion, with plenty of raw emotion behind it. It was met with a real roar as well from the Elland Road faithful, which certainly adds to it.

3) Dominic Calvert-Lewin vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is part of a seriously impressive top three. His header against Wolves was about as good as headers come, as he angled a deflected Bogle cross perfectly into the corner.

It was loopy and yet powerful. The quality of it is explained by expected goals, if you like that sort of thing. FotMob suggest the chance was a 0.14xG chance, which the quality of the header then increased to a 0.74 chance with post-shot xG. In simple terms: unbelievable.

2) Sean Longstaff vs AFC Bournemouth

I’ll be honest, the top two have been switched around numerous times when putting together this article. How can you split them? How is that possible? They’re both outrageous strikes.

Sean Longstaff’s half-volley against Bournemouth was a thing of beauty, perfectly slicing across the ball so that it found the goal in off the post. It was absolutely sensational. He is so close to a 10/10.

1) Anton Stach vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Much like Longstaff, Stach is ever so close to a 10/10 here. The thing that perhaps sways it slightly more is the sheer ferocity and venom on his free-kick against Wolves.

It was unstoppable, in spite of being the goalkeeper’s side. That just edges it, as does the fact he meant to hit it exactly as he did. Did Longstaff mean to slice as much as he did? Either way, Stach deserves top spot.

Which player has had the most shots for Leeds United this season?

Per FBref, and in the league only, Stach has actually been the player with the most shots so far (12), just ahead of Calvert-Lewin (nine) and Longstaff (eight).

Brenden Aaronson is the Leeds player with the most shots without scoring (also eight), while Okafor has scored with two of his six shots — with only two on target so far as well.

The squad as a whole has had 84 shots and 23 on target. The xG total for the shots is 7.6 thus far, too.
