Swansea City manager Michael Duff has delivered his verdict on Leeds United having watched the Whites this season, applauding the way we play football – and even mentioning striker Joel Piroe.
Piroe of course, left Swansea in the summer to join Leeds. The two only worked together for a couple of months, before the Dutchman moved to Elland Road. Duff has struggled to get his Swansea side going.
They sit way down in 18th place, winning one of the last six. Four wins in a row came before that. The Welsh side are lacking consistency. Leeds then, at Elland Road, are strong favourites to secure a win.
Leeds have impressed with the way we have played football – but have also come unstuck in games such as Birmingham, Hull, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke and then last Friday night, against Rotherham.
Swansea boss Duff gave his take on Leeds having watched, prepared and analysed the Whites ahead of tonight’s clash. He even doffed his cap to Piroe, and the atmosphere at Elland Road ahead of the game.
“It’s Leeds United away, so you know the sort of challenge you are going to face. There will be 35,000 there, they are right up there. They’ll be looking to bounce straight back after the draw the other night.
“You can see there is a lot of quality in their squad with some players we obviously know well. It will be a tough ask, but we want to go there, be on the front foot. It is down to us to sustain that for 90 minutes.”

Leeds have been superb this season, but we have struggled in games that we are expected to win. The likes of Rotherham, Wednesday and Stoke are stark reminders that we are still not at our potential best.
Games against the likes of Swansea, clubs in the bottom half of the League, are games that need to be our bread and butter. Games that Leeds simply cannot leave behind, without picking up three points.
