Kalvin Phillips is likely to move on from Manchester City in the January transfer window and his old Leeds United teammate Tommaso Bianchi has urged him to join Italian side Juventus, on TuttoJuve.
Phillips, 27, has managed just 29 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side since joining City – eight of which have come this season, but all off the bench. The England star looks more and more likely to leave City.
TeamTalk says Juventus are among Phillips’ suitors – along with Newcastle and Liverpool. It comes after Paul Pogba has suffered more injury issues. Nicolo Fagioli has been banned for at least seven months.
Newcastle and Liverpool are also said to be among Phillips’ admirers. But Bianchi, who joined Leeds in the summer of 2014 and left after 26 appearances, thinks Juve would be the perfect move for Phillips.
“Yes, it would be a top shot. I think Kalvin is exactly the right player for this midfield. He is good at both interdicting and building, without underestimating his ballistic shooting skills and insertion,” Bianchi said.

Well, it would be different. It would see Phillips team up with Weston McKennie, who is re-established himself back with the Old Lady. Juve need additions in the middle of the park, Phillips needs a move.
It is unclear what kind of asking price City will put in place for Phillips after he signed for £45m. It is also unclear if there is a sell-on fee that will see us benefit. An initial loan with a permanent clause is likely.
Should he go to Juventus? Well, a team that could be challenging for the Serie A title this season – with no club really running away with it yet. Juve are second, behind Inter Milan. A really good move for him.
