Willy Gnonto has told the Premier League’s YouTube channel that he feels better when Tyler Adams is in the Leeds United side, claiming that it is a pleasure to play alongside the midfielder.
Adams has made a massive impact since arriving at Elland Road. Of course, he was under real pressure shortly after his arrival as Leeds sold Kalvin Phillips. Adams’ own form before his exit from RB Leipzig had not been the best either.

But the 24-year-old has been outstanding for the majority of the campaign. Certainly, his form before Jesse Marsch’s departure suggested that he was on course to win the club’s player of the season.

He is also clearly a leader. Adams captained his country at the World Cup last year. And for many fans, he is probably a natural successor when the time comes to replace Liam Cooper as Leeds skipper.

Gnonto was asked about what it is like to play alongside Adams. And he suggested that he always feels safer when he is in the squad.
“I feel better because when I lose the ball, I know that he’s there. So I’m like: ‘oh yeah, he’ll take it’. A pleasure to play with him,” he told the Premier League YouTube channel.
Adams seems to be so important to the balance of the side. There have been games where you almost do not notice him moving across the pitch, and yet, he always ends up in the right position when the team needs him.
His form has probably dipped in more recent times – by his own incredibly high standards. But he is looking like a bargain addition at £20 million.
Leeds have a lot of potential in a number of areas, including in the middle of the park. If we can stay up, it really does feel like the foundations are in place to kick on and do a lot better next year.
