Wilfried Gnonto has responded when asked if he will stay at Leeds United for the rest of his career, by a child as Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville visited Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm.

Gnonto has endured a tough season. The winger, who turned 20 in November, has failed to start for us since the 1-0 loss at Stoke City – on October 25. He has come on as a sub in the last nine league games.

Summervile, meanwhile, has been in sensational form. Involved in a scrap after Saturday’s 1-1 draw, a game in which he had scored in, the Dutchman has 16 goals and assists in 19 Championship games.

Earlier this month, Summerville and Gnonto attended a Christmas event at the Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm. The children posed questions to the Leeds United stars, during a bit of a Q&A period.

One asked Gnonto if he would stay forever, and he replied – as per Leeds Live: “The toughest, timeliest, question of the day was given to Gnonto by one youth with the January window looming on the horizon.

“‘Willy, will you stay at Leeds forever?'” winger Gnonto was asked. Leeds Live continued in their report: “The Italian could only laugh and humbly said: ‘I don’t know if they want me. I’m enjoying myself.'”

Gnonto is a serious talent. But he is struggling to get into the side at the moment and with Summerville and Dan James both in excellent form, he cannot break in. Over Christmas, you would expect a chance.

Not simply because rotation will be required, but because Leeds have now failed to win in the last two games. It might be that against Ipswich, Gnonto is given a chance to excel in what is a massive match.
