Leeds United have suffered another massive blow after drawing with Luton Town and the bad news doesn’t stop there.

Daniel Farke tempted fate by saying he believed Leeds United would be in the Premier League next season and it has already backfired.

Leeds went behind at relegation-threatened Luton Town and needed a stunning strike from Dan James to drag themselves back level, but a desperately needed winner never looked likely.

The Whites are at severe risk of dropping into the play-offs for the second season running as the players continue to wilt under immense pressure.

To make matters worse, Pascal Struijk now appears to be an injury doubt for upcoming fixtures.

Pascal Struijk suffered injury in Leeds draw at Luton

Struijk was forced off the field in the closing stages of the match, with the returning Max Wober replacing him, after picking up an injury.

The Dutch defender was visibly limping on the field and had to sit down before his withdrawal, drawing loud jeers from the home crowd at Kenilworth Road.

After the match, as players went to applaud the beleaguered travelling fans, Struijk was seen still limping.

Journalist Beren Cross reported on X: “Struijk not moving well as he comes off. Ice wrapped around his right foot.”

Struijk injury would be a massive blow to Leeds

Leeds fans will be keeping everything crossed that Struijk has only suffered an impact blow rather than an injury that could rule him out for any length of time.

With United already struggling for results and confidence, the last thing they need is one of their most important and consistent performers being sidelined.

Leeds have now dropped to 3rd in the Championship table, with Burnley leap-frogging them into the automatic promotion places. Sheffield United can extend their lead at the top to four points.

In a rare piece of good news, Patrick Bamford made his long-awaited return from injury in the match and looked sharp.
