The noise that emanated from Elland Road when Ao Tanaka stroked home a bobbling ball in the Liverpool box might well have been heard from each end of the country. Lucas Radebe was impressed.

It was the culmination of a barbaric second half, after Leeds United and Liverpool had drawn a blank in the first 45. Curtis Jones saw an effort hit the bar, but that was the closest anyone came to a goal by far.

Did Leeds deserve a point? The highlights from draw with Liverpool 🤯

What a week!

In the second half, six goals. A Hugo Ekitike brace was followed by a Dominic Calvert-Lewin penalty – rightly awarded to Leeds, according to Dermot Gallagher – and then a brilliant Anton Stach finish.

The joy of Stach’s goal was short-lived. Tanaka decided to step out of the block, and Liverpool took full advantage, Dominik Szoboszlai making it 3-2. But Leeds weren’t done, as Tanaka netted an equaliser.

Lucas Radebe in awe of Leeds United atmosphere after draw

Leeds legend Radebe had travelled to Yorkshire after being announced as a new ambassador of the club. The ‘Chief’ was in attendance for both the Chelsea game, and then the incredible 3-3 draw with Liverpool.

The four points have not only pushed Leeds into 16th place, but Daniel Farke’s future as manager at Leeds is secure. The German gaffer was close to the sack, but now has earned himself a bit more time.

Posting on X a series of pictures which include Liverpool icon and former Leeds striker Ian Rush, Radebe said that the noise created against Liverpool reminded him just how big a weapon Elland Road can be.

Daniel Farke listened, he adapted, and he won the fans back

If there’s been anything staggering this week, and plenty has, the most unbelievable result of the last week has been Farke coming back from the brink. In the eyes of many, Farke was done. Sack, inevitable.

But he listened to fans urging him to make changes. He adapted, using his tactical nous to change the formation and the tactics, and he has become proactive in doing so. He’s proven to fans, he’s the man.

What is crucial this season, more than most, is keeping Elland Road on side. Keeping the faith among supporters and in return, they provide the biggest weapon of all. The famous Elland Road atmosphere.

Well, the last week has seen Farke do that. Fans are back onside, they believe the 49ers made the right decision to keep Farke for Liverpool and Chelsea and ahead of Brentford, Leeds are ready to go.
