Back in the summer, Leeds United fans were concerned when The Whites announced that Red Bull’s next footballing venture would be their beloved club.
The enormous energy drinks company have put their stamp on the sporting world, becoming the best team in F1 over the years with the help of Christian Horner and driver Max Verstappen in recent times.
In terms of football, Red Bull have made their mark with their ownership and stake in the likes of Leipzig, Salzburg, MLS giants New York Red Bulls and Brazilian side Bragantino. Leeds and Paris FC, the latest.
In the summer, Red Bull secured a 10% stake of Leeds and agreed one of the biggest shirt sponsorships the club has ever had, agreeing a front-of-shirt sponsorship on a multi-year rolling contract with Leeds.

Reports this week said Red Bull could now increase Leeds stake
For some clubs, this would be hugely positive news. Red Bull’s financial power is enormous, but Leeds fans are obviously and perhaps rightly concerned that as Red Bull’s stake increases, so does their power.
At previous clubs, they have renamed Leipzig, Salzburg, Bragantino and New York. Badges have been changed, completely altering the history of those sides. Fans are worried it could happen at Leeds.
A report from City AM says that Red Bull have re-allocated funds by cutting investment in other sport in order to focus more on football and that could see them increase their stake in Daniel Farke’s Leeds.

What Leeds United sources are now saying about Red Bull stake
However, a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Joe Donnohue says that Red Bull have no plans to increase their stake in Leeds despite the reports, and despite the way they have worked at other clubs.
Following their arrival at Leeds, it was made very clear that Red Bull had no plans to alter the history and the image of the club. Donnohue reports that there are no plans for further investment, at this time.
It is clear however, Red Bull are focusing more on football. In the last year, they have hired Jurgen Klopp as head of global football while Mario Gomez is set to sign a new deal as Red Bull’s technical director.
