News has emerged that Luis Sinisterra will be joining Bournemouth on a permanent basis from Leeds United at the end of the season – an initial loan that saw Jaidon Anthony move to Elland Road.

Sinisterra, 24, only joined Leeds in the summer of 2022 after starring Arne Slot’s Feyenoord side – as he played a crucial part in their road to the Europa Conference League final. He cost Leeds a fee of £21m.

But injuries hit at Leeds, and he managed just 22 games last season – scoring seven goals. After a few games earlier this season, and a goal in the 4-3 win at Ipswich, he joined Bournemouth on deadline day.

It had been expected he would join – but it was unclear when. Now, Phil Hay reports Sinisterra is set to join Bournemouth on a permanent basis – for a fee of £20m, with the Cherries now agreeing to pay it.

Anthony, meanwhile, joined Leeds on loan but without an option – in the deal for Sinisterra. He has done well on the occasion he has played. But, he has scored two goals so far – starting only five of 24 games.

Luis Sinisterra does not affect Jaidon Anthony loan at Leeds

Glimpses of quality, like his FA Cup strike against Plymouth. But, he has struggled to do enough when given the chance. His display on Tuesday was up and down, failing to break open the Argyle defence.

With Sinisterra moving to Bournemouth permanently now looking as though it will be announced soon, Anthony’s loan might have been affected. But The Echo deliver an update in a piece on their website.

They say that Sinisterra’s move to The Vitality does not affect Anthony’s loan and as things stand, he will go back to Bournemouth when his loan at Leeds ends. He doesn’t have a permanent clause, here.
