‘Weak’: Nation’s media blast Leeds man’s international display on Tuesday, ‘miles away from his best’

Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara has been criticised for his performance in Finland’s 2-1 defeat to Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

In player ratings from Finnish outlet HBL, Kamara was handed a 5/10 as Finland’s hopes of qualifying through the group were all but ended.

Finland had taken the lead in the first half through Inter Miami’s Robert Taylor, but were undone by two late goals from Bakhtiyar Zaynutdinov.

Kamara’s side had been in a good position to qualify from Group H at the beginning of September, but will now need a miracle if they are to finish in the top two.

By the sounds of it, Kamara will be extremely disappointed with not only the result, but also his individual performance in such a poor defeat.

Kamara blasted for Finland performance

As per the report, Kamara is said to have been ‘miles away from his best form’, and a long way away from where he once was.

They said: “Kamara – 5. Several miles away from his best form. Weak in the melee and unimaginative and uncertain in the passing game. Far from the army leader he once was.”

This is disappointing to hear about Kamara as it had looked as though he was finding his feet at Leeds, with his most recent performance against Bristol City his best yet.

Hopefully it is just a minor blip for the 27-year-old as with all due respect to Finland and their squad, the players he is surrounded with at Leeds are of a higher standard.

Kamara has a chance to put his poor performance to bed almost instantly as he returns to club football with a trip to Norwich City on Saturday.
