Daniel Bachmann was the man to blame for Watford supporters on Tuesday night as Leeds United secured all three points with a narrow 2-1 win at Elland Road.
A sixth Championship win of the season that had taken Daniel Farke’s side into second place in the table. Results on Wednesday saw Leeds return to third, but on level points with Scott Parker’s Burnley side.
Goals from Largie Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson proved to be enough for Leeds to win, but Leeds had to do it by holding on at times in the second half after Kwadwo Baah had scored to halve the deficit.
Leeds had chances to score but it finished 2-1, largely thanks to the mistakes made by Watford stopper Bachmann. Tom Cleverley applauded Leeds, saying they know how to win when not playing at their best.

Bachmann was brave enough to speak to Watford’s website after the game, issuing an apology to fans for his role in both Leeds goals. But the goalkeeper also made a bit of a strange claim about the Leeds fans.
He said that during the game, he heard Watford’s support more than the Elland Road fanbase. A superb feat if it was true, given Watford took less than 500 supporters to Elland Road on Tuesday night.
Bachmann said: “At times we heard them more than Leeds, and that says a lot at this stadium. I can only thank them and apologise. I hope with the reaction that we showed as a team we made them proud.”
Bachmann also felt Watford deserved a point against Leeds
Judging by the stats, Leeds dominated the match in terms of chances even if Watford did put a bit of pressure on Leeds in the second half. Bachmann clearly forgetting just how many chances Leeds had.

But despite his two errors and both Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe missing second-half sitters, Bachmann told Watford’s website that he felt Cleverley’s Hornets desvered to take a point home from Elland Road.
“To come to a place like this and play how we did, I don’t think many teams will come here and perform the way we did tonight. In the end we deserved at least a point the way we played in the second half.”
